Phyllostachys aureosulcata 'Spectabilis' has similar upright growing habit as the Yellow Groove Bamboo. This variety is one of the hardiest and more unique species of bamboo. Boasting bright yellow culms striped with green. If grown in a sunny location the new culms display a beautiful red highlight in the spring and early summer. Known for its zig zag pattern at the base of the culms.
It reaches its mature height in approx. 5 to 10 years. Can also be planted in containers or pots, as long as they are brought indoors (cold frame or garage) in the winter
