Boreal Beast Haskap (Honeyberry) is an upright vigourous shrub, with good productivity and an excellent mildew resistance. While 'Boreal beast' doesn't produce honeyberries as pretty as 'Boreal Beauty', the berries flavour remains remarkable fresh or frozen. The fruits weight in average 1.96 grams (smaller than 'Boreal Blizzard' and 'Boreal Beauty'). Bush habit and even-ripening characteristics indicates this variety is suited for mechanical
harvesting. This variety will start flowering in mid-season and will overlap the blooming periods of 'Aurora' (mid-season as well), Boreal Blizzard (late-season) and 'Boreal Beauty' (very late-season) and will pollinate them all. This productive pollinator produces simultaneously its own large sweet tasting berries. 'Boreal Beast' is a a great cultivar to pollinate mid-season to very late blooming varieties and is pollen compatible with many cultivars.
