RED MOUNTAIN® Ice Plant is a beautiful, award-winning, evergreen succulent, best used as a ground cover. The short, spreading, foliage is a light green colour and forms dense mats. The daisy-like flowers are reddish orange, with creamy white centers and appear in profusion from late spring to the fall. The long-lasting blooms are beneficial to pollinator species, like bees and butterflies.
Once established, RED MOUNTAIN® is a mesmerizing, eye-catching ground cover. Best grown in sandy, rocky soil with good drainage. This Red Ice Plant will suffer if grown in poorly drained, clay soil. It is tolerant to drought and hot, dry conditions. Also suitable for borders, rock gardens, containers/planters, and xeriscaping.
