The Blue False Indigo will make a dramatic statement with its indigo blue flower spikes that rise above the blue green foliage. Gorgeous blooms begin in late spring and last until summer. Secondary branching makes it especially floriferous. If left untrimmed Bastard Lupine attractive black seedpods follow in the fall and persisting into winter. The Blue Wild Indigo (Baptisia australis) is a very durable plant. It adds beauty even when it’s not in bloom with its blue-green dense foliage and its lovely backdrop for other perennials.
