Jack Frost Brunnera (Brunnera macrophylla 'Jack Frost') has some of the showiest foliage of all Siberian. The green, heart-shaped leaves are heavily frosted in silver, creating a 'crackle-like' finish that accentuates the green veining. The charming, sky blue 'forget-me-not' type flowers rise above the shimmering foliage in mid to late spring, creating a stunning combination!
Jack Frost Siberian Bugloss is a rhizomatous, short, clump-forming perennial that makes a lovely ground cover. Like other Siberian Bugloss, Jack Frost Brunnera prefers shade, but this variety tolerates more direct sun than others. However, afternoon shade in summer months is still recommended for optimal plant health. It will suffer in full sun, or dry summer months if not kept moist.
The adorable flowers are lovely in fresh-cut spring bouquets. Jack Frost Siberian Bugloss is absolutely stunning in the garden from early spring to fall - it is one of the showiest plants in the shade garden!
