Huvi Clematis displays carmine velvet flowers with purple stamens and white anthers. The large flowers can reach 6" in diameter. Clematis 'Huvi' continuously blooms from June to September. Old flower growths should be pruned to encourage new flowers. Hardy to zone 4a (-35 °C), this large flowered-clematis selection can withstand very low temperatures. Compact climber growing up to 5 feet tall, it is not invasive and will fair well in a planter or a small garden. Pruning Group: 3.
Pruning Groups:
Group 1 – Flowers only on old wood (previous year). Prune after spring flowering.
Group 2 – Flowers on both old and new wood. Little pruning should be done for woody-stemmed members of this Group. If cut to the ground or pruned in fall or spring, flowering will be reduced or delayed, but not prevented.
