Less colourful than the male, this Arctic Kiwi Female selection nevertheless show attractive tri-coloured foliage, with astonishing lemon scented white flowers in early summer. Young plants leaves are initially green but will start to display pink and white tips, as they are reaching their second or third year.
Actinidia kolomikta 'Vitakola' produces one of the largest Arctic Kiwi. The fruits are yellowish-green and reach up to 4,5 cm in length.
Actinidia kolomikta are hardier than most Actinidia arguta (Hardy Kiwi). The Czech cultivar 'Vitakola' can withstand up to -35 °C.
Vitakola Arctic Kiwi is self-unfruitful, it won't bear fruit without a male variety. One male plant of the kolomikta species can pollinate up to 8 female plants of the same species. Male Actinidia kolomikta can not pollinate female varieties of Actinidia arguta.
