This White Phlox is a wonderfully fragrant, tall garden phlox with large, dense, terminal pyramidal panicles of pure white flowers on sturdy, upright stems. Long blooming - from mid to late summer, and can extend into early fall. David Phlox Flowers are beautifully set off by deep green, narrow, pointed, lance-shaped leaves (to 5 inches long).
Plant in full sun to partial shade. Intolerant of drought and needs to be watered in dry spells. Appreciates a summer mulch which helps keep the root zone cool. Phlox paniculata 'David' is the most mildew resistant white phlox variety, but still appreciates good air flow, and a good cut back / clean up in preparation for winter. This tall white Phlox is excellent in borders, beds and containers. Good fresh cut flower. Popular with hummingbirds and butterflies. David Garden Phlox is deer resistant and Black Walnut tolerant.
