Growing to 10 ft. tall and 4 ft. wide, it displays lovely, bluish green foliage, which is slightly bluer in late spring. The pollen cones are produced in early spring and are up to 4mm long. The seed cones are dark blue, berry like, and are up to 1cm in diameter. It is very attractive to birds. It is tolerant of urban pollution. It is particularly tolerant of hot sunny sites.
Juniperus scopulorum 'Skyrocket' is a cultivar of Juniperus scopulorum which is native from Alberta and British Columbia.
