This variety has been selected for its tall flowering stems making it well suited for cut flowers production. Astrantia dried flowers can be used for winter arrangements.

The Great Masterwort is a long bloomer. It starts producing flowers in early summer and lasts until early fall, adding colours in the garden until late in the season.

This plant is very beneficial to local pollinator species, including bees and butterflies, which can’t get enough of the big blooms. Astrantia are tolerant to wet and poorly drained soil. Spent flowers need to be removed to encourage new blooms and prevent self-seeding. All parts of this plant are poisonous if ingested.

Please use availability information as a guide only. The weather is a fickle thing, and impacts when our plants are actually available for shipping. Please be aware that we are not answering emails regarding plants availability. The best advice we can give you is to check back once in a while, choose a size option and check the current stock.
