Anatoki Pineapple Guava Tree (Acca sellowiana 'Anatoki') is early ripening, and highly valued for its abundant crops of large, very sweet, flavourful fruits. The pretty, red-flushed green fruit that Anatoki Guavasteen produces has a pineapple and mint flavour. The fruit is pear shaped, and 1 to 3 inches long, and 1 to 1.5 inches wide. It can be eaten raw, or used for jams, pies etc.

Although the Anatoki Pineapple Guava plant is valued primarily for its fruit production, it also has prolific, and striking flowers. These edible, tropical looking flowers have white and pink petals along with beautiful red stamens. Use the flowers as a garnish, or in a salad - some say they taste like cotton candy!

Anatoki Pineapple Guava Plant is an attractive small, multi-branched shrub or small tree. The leathery leaves are green on top, and silvery-green underneath. Fruit production may take 3 to 4 years, but the tree can produce for up to 50 years.

Native to parts of South America, most of the selection and breeding work with Acca (Feijoa) has been carried out in New Zealand. Pineapple Guava is slow growing to 6 to 8 feet in height; and is beautiful as a specimen in a container (bring indoors during cooler temperatures). Anatoki Guavasteen is hardy to zone 7a.

Pineapple Guava is pest and disease-resistant, and prefers a sunny spot (full sun exposure will improve fruit production), but it will tolerate partial shade outdoors. Anatoki Feijoa tree is considered partially self-fertile. Planting another variety nearby is recommended for cross pollination and best fruit production (for example, 'Anatoki with 'Kakariki').
