Phalaris arundinacea 'Pure Gold' (Ribbon Grass) is an ideal addition to garden water features, pond landscapes, or anywhere with wet soil. This very ornamental grass has narrow, deciduous leaves that are bright yellow-green. From May to July, greenish-white flower spikes bloom above the colourful grass. The striking yellow leaves provides a dramatic effect early in the spring when most grasses are still awakening. After few frosts, the tips of the leaves turn bright orange, resembling a burning fire. This spreading grass works well when allowed to wander.
