Leontopodium alpinum is nothing less than the mythic EDELWEISS that grows in the Alps. Once endangered, the Edelweiss knows a rebirth with this new introduction. Blossom of Snow Edelweiss unlike the native species, blooms twice a year; in summer and in the fall! Blossom of Snow features silver foliage with large white star-shaped flowers. The rather long flowers (up to 16" tall) makes them very suitable for cut flowers and dried flower winter arrangements. This easy to grow perennials thrives best in dry, well drained soil and full sun exposure. Leontopodium alpinum 'Blossom of Snow' is an excellent choice for sandy soil, rock gardens, borders and containers. This rare perennial requires very little maintenance.
