Hosta 'Abiqua Drinking Gourd' (Plantain Lily) is a large Blue Hosta renowned for its wide, heavily corrugated foliage and deeply cupped leaves. This slug resistant Hosta has gorgeous, blue green, twisted leaves. The elegant leaves hold water after a rain. White blooms occur in late summer on tall, slender flowering stems.
This Blue Hosta was cultivated in Oregon and named after Abiqua Creek in the Oregon mountains. It is a cross between Hosta 'Tokudama' and Hosta sieboldiana.
Divide every 2-3 years to maintain size and vigour. Abiqua Drinking Gourd Hosta grows best in shade gardens, adding tranquil beauty alongside other Hosta varieties and ferns.
