Columbine Meadow Rue (Thalictrum aquilegiifolium) is a lovely perennial featuring dense panicles of pink to lavender coloured flowers that appear on tall flowering stems. Meadow Rue is a full, bushy perennial with attractive, blueish-green, lacy foliage that resembles Wild Columbine.
Columbine Meadow-rue blooms from June to July and attracts pollinators, like bees and butterflies. It can self-seed and produce new plants nearby. Remove seed heads after blooming if not desired. Grows best in cool, moist areas with partial shade, and some protection from strong winds. The French Meadow-rue is low maintenance, but may require staking if flowering stems start to fall over.
