Hewitt's Double Chinese Meadow Rue (Thalictrum delavayi 'Hewitt's Double') is a tall, narrow, and clumping perennial. It grows to 5 feet tall and 4 ft wide. In the summer, wiry-branched, airy, large terminal sprays of tiny, double, rose-like lavender flowers with contrasting yellow stamens rise above the foliage. Hewitt's Double Meadow Rue foliage resembles that of Columbine or Maidenhair fern.
A great background plant, Yunnan Meadow Rue provides texture, form and colour to the perennial border, wildflower garden, meadow or naturalized area. Makes a wonderful cut flower.
Easy to care for, Meadow Rue prefers dappled sun; and is intolerant of hot, humid conditions. Tolerant of deer, rabbit resistant.
