Chaenomeles speciosa 'Yukigoten' is a rather large, vigorous flowering quince. This double white-flowered japanese quince blooms in late April/early May. The floral buds starts yellow-cream to slowly turn white. The unique flowers provide a valuable source of nectar to pollinators, early in the season. Prominent, aromatic yellow fruits extend the display in the fall. Although bitter right off the shrub the fruit is perfect for preserves and jellies.
