Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Waldenbuch' is an extremely hardy ornamental grass that thrives in a variety of climates. Lush green blades grow to 5 ft high from late spring to the fall when they turn a light yellow. Flower plumes bloom from July to September emerge silvery green and then change to a golden tan. The texture and colour of the spikes vary greatly during their blooming period, adding wonderful visual interest to the garden. The erect green leaves and flower spikes are strong design elements for screens, containers and arrangements. The Waldenbuch Feather Reed Grass has a looser and more arching habit than the Karl Foerster.
