Brunnera macrophylla 'Sterling Silver' features supersized silvered leaves (7-8" wide) with smaller green veins. Sterling Silver Siberian Bugloss is an improved variety with a larger amount of silver in its foliage. In the early spring, clusters of adorable, sky-blue forget-me-not flowers appear on branched racemes above the clumps of basal leaves.
Sterling Silver False Forget-Me-Not has larger foliage, larger habit, better leaf quality and more tolerance to heat than other Brunnera. However, afternoon shade in summer months is still recommended for optimal plant health. This perennial should be planted in partial sun or shade, working well in any shade garden, as a border of a woodlot, or as a shady ground cover. It will suffer in full sun or dry summer months if not kept moist. This plant can spread slowly through rhizomes and self seeding, So, remove spent flowers if new plants are not desired.
