Cobalt Dreams Delphinium is a gorgeous perennial from the NEW MILLENNIUM™ series. It has been bred by New Zeland Delphiniums. This new selection produces strong, tall flowers tightly packed with cobalt blue florets with brightly contrasting white centres. It was selected for its improved tolerance of heat and humidity, while retaining its cold hardiness. The foliage is compact, dark green, and deeply divided. Great for cut flowers.
This Blue Delphinium is beneficial to pollinator species, like bees and hummingbirds. Delphinium elatum 'Cobalt Dreams' is particularly appreciated for its long blooming season, going from June to September. Cut the spent flower spikes to the ground to encourage a second blooming period in August and September. Best grown in moist, organically rich soil in a sheltered location to protect the tall flower spikes from being broken by strong winds.
