Rubus 'Honey Queen', known as Honey Queen Raspberry is an everbearing yellow raspberry plant. A Canadian variety developed in Rocky Mountain House Alberta, it is one of the hardiest yellow raspberry plants on the market. Honey Queen's berries are known for their exquisite honey taste, and pretty yellow colour. A low-acid, medium to large-sized, soft berry, they are wonderful for eating fresh off the cane (and in jams)!
Honey Queen is a yellow Primocane Raspberry. Primocane Raspberries produce 2 crops a year; a fall crop (August to September) on the new (current year) canes and a late spring/early summer crop (June-July) on the previous year canes.
Raspberry canes belong to a plant family known as 'brambles'. Honey Queen canes are yellowish, arched, and moderately spiny. It should be trellised upright for best results. While all gold raspberry plants prefer the sun, Honey Queen is the best option for planting in shady areas. Give this yellow raspberry plant lots of water for larger berries and higher yields.
