Jagody N°1' goji berries are sweeter and mildier than most varieties. The usual bitterness is barely palpable. The orange-red berries are rather long (2 cm). They ripen from August to October. While 'Firecracker' produces fruits in its first year, 'Jagody N°1' starts bearing fruits 2 to 3 years after planting. Goji Berries are considered as "Superfood". They contain up to 2500mg of vitamin C for 100g of fruits. They are also rich in vitamin B, E and microelements (zinc, iron, copper, calcium, selenium and phosphorus). It is recommended to plant a bluebeard variety (Caryopteris) near in order to attracts bees in late summer to increase the pollination rate. Planting other cultivars (such as 'Firecracker', Dynamite' or 'Amber Sweet' in close proximity will ensure as well higher cross pollination and increase the amount of fruits.
