Storm Cloud Blue Star is an award-winning native cultivar. Its near-black spring stems have silver-veined, dark green leaves. The long-blooming, star-shaped, periwinkle coloured flowers first blanket the foliage in late spring, reblooming for many weeks. Growing to 2.5 feet tall and 3.5 feet wide, young Blue Star have a beautiful vase-like shape. As they mature they will become fuller at the ground. The willow-like foliage will turn golden yellow in the fall.

This easy to care for perennial can easily take the place of ornamental shrubs in your garden. Use Amsonia tabernaemontana 'Storm Cloud' in the border, or as a foundation plant, planted en masse, or use as a focal point. Both flowers and foliage can be used in floral arrangements. Storm Cloud Blue Star is a heat and humidity tolerant; and deer resistant perennial.

Please use availability information as a guide only. The weather is a fickle thing, and impacts when our plants are actually available for shipping.
