Rosa 'Morden Sunrise' is an extremely well performing rose: a repeat bloomer that is disease resistant, and hardy to -40 °C. Its lively, lightly scented, semi-double blooms are ever changing in colour - from apricot and yellow, to salmon, light pink and yellow. Listed as growing 3 ft tall, it is perfect for planters and small gardens. Lovely in cottage, contemporary, and traditional gardens. Attracts butterflies.
'Morden Sunrise' is part of the Morden Canadian Parkland Series of roses, developed at the Morden Research Station in Manitoba. One feature of Parkland roses that distinguishes them from other Canadian hardy shrub roses is their tolerance to freezing down to the snow line or the ground. This freezing back keeps these roses more compact. Parkland roses are hardy to -35°C or -40°C with only snow as protection, and are disease-resistant.
