Primula BELARINA® Valentine ('Kerbelred')

Valentine Primrose (Primula BELARINA® Valentine) is part of the distinguished BELARINA® Series, bred by David Kerley and selected for its stunning double blooms and rich, vibrant colour. Primula (Primrose) is a classic spring-blooming perennial cherished for its abundance of colourful flowers.

BELARINA® Valentine Primrose features intense, fully double flowers measuring approximately 3 cm across in a deep scarlet red. Exceptionally floriferous and vigorous, its upward-facing blooms contrast beautifully with its crisp, crinkled bright green foliage. Sweetly fragrant and long blooming, the flowers attract bees and butterflies from March to May.

Hardy to Zone 4a, this red primrose thrives in partial shade with moist, well-drained soil. It will tolerate sunny sites; however, in hot, dry summers it may go dormant if not provided with adequate moisture.

Forming tidy, compact clumps up to 30 cm (1 ft) wide, Primula BELARINA® Valentine is an excellent choice for front of borders or edges. It also performs beautifully in rock gardens, open woodland settings, along streams, bogs or ponds, and in containers.
