Rosa 'New Dawn' (Large-flowered Climbing Rose) is one of the most lauded and popular hardy climbing roses, worldwide. It is a sport of Rosa 'Dr. W. Van Fleet' introduced by H A Dreer. New Dawn Rose is of historical significance because it holds the first plant patent ever granted after the implementation of The Plant Patent Act in 1930.

An incredible repeat blooming rose, it flowers from late spring to frost. It has large, showy, mildly fragrant, blush pink, double flowers (to 4" across). The foliage is glossy and dark green. New Dawn double pink climbing rose grows 8 to 12 feet tall, with a spread of up to 6 feet. Has lovely fall interest, with its abundant red hips.

New Dawn Climbing Rose will need support, so secure it to arbour, trellis, fence, pergola, or any garden structure. Looks quite romantic tumbling down a wall, or twined around pillars. May also be used as a ground cover in a suitable location. Hardy to zone 4a, easy to grow, and has excellent disease resistance. While it will grow in partial shade, the best blooms and disease resistance is with full sun. This large-flowered Climbing Rose attracts butterflies.
