The Japanese Fantail Willow is an ornamental shrub that is often grown for its inclusion in Ikebana and other flower arrangements. Silvery-grey catkins with yellow anthers emerge in the spring. In the summer months bright green compound leaves adorn the flattened and twisted reddish branches. Newly propagated plants may take 3-4 years before the unique stem fasciation begins to appear.
