Attracting hummingbirds is just one benefit of the Indian Summer Trumpet Vine. This easy to grow vine has salmon-orange trumpet shaped flowers that bloom long from late spring into summer. The blooms are followed by bean like seedpods. Also called the Trumpet Creeper it provides quick cover for fences, arbours, and walls. Indian Summer is a more compact and manageable landscape plant that is reportedly less invasive than the species. Its compact habit makes it suitable to be trained into a small tree. This cultivar is hardy to -27°C (zone 5b), perhaps even -29°C.
