Blue Princess Holly (Ilex x meserveae 'Blue Princess') is a fantastic, evergreen shrub beloved for its red berries and winter colours. This broadleaf evergreen holly usually reaches 6 to 8' (1.8 to 2.4m) tall.

Glossy, dark bluish green leaves with spiny toothed edges remain all year and match the vibrant dark purple stems.

Small greenish-white flowers in the spring develop into abundant cheerful red berries throughout the fall and often persist during the winter season. Blue Princess Blue Holly is a female variety that needs a nearby male plant to pollinate it, and produce berries. Plant one male for every 3 to 5 female blue holly plants. These delightful berries are highly appreciated by local birds during the winter months.
