The Hummingbird Summersweet shows it blooms for 4-6 weeks in summer when there is little else in bloom. This intensely fragrant shrub has brush like spikes of beautiful white flowers. The foliage creates interest in the fall when the glossy round leaves turn a harvest gold. Also called Hummingbird Sweet Pepperbush, this compact slow spreading plant is great for small gardens but is also effective in mass planting, and mixed into perennial borders.
