Boom Chocolatta Geranium (Geranium pratense 'Boom Chocolatta') is a perennial known for its unique dark bronze-chocolate foliage. Its bright blue-purple flowers and bronze leaves are wonderfully contrasting. An easy to grow PROVEN WINNER® perennial, it will bloom throughout summer, and attracts pollinators. The foliage of this hardy geranium is deeply lobed, and very dense right to the ground, and does not require any facer plant.
Boom Chocolatta Hardy geranium reaches 24 inches to 26 inches (61 cm-66 cm) in height, and spreads up to 29 inches (76 cm). Boom Chocolatta is more vigorous than any older varieties of Hardy Geranium. It prefers moist soil and can tolerate slight drought once established. It will usually die-back during winter, and will regrow during spring. It is necessary to make sure to keep the crown undisturbed during late winter when it may not be readily seen.
Boom Chocolatta Geranium is a fine choice for the garden and can be used as a contrast plant for outdoor pot and containers. In mass planting, or bedding individual plants this blue geranium should be spaced 28 to 30 inches apart. Boom Chocolatta cranesbill is an easy to grow hardy geranium which is deer and rabbit resistant.
