Chantilly Lace Goatsbeard (Aruncus ‘Chantilly Lace’ Proven Winners®) is a stunning shade-garden perennial prized for its airy elegant and abundant blooms. In early to midsummer (June–July), it produces graceful panicles of lacy, cream-coloured flowers that rise above fern-like green foliage. Exceptionally floriferous, the pollinator-attracting blossoms nearly blanket the plant when it reaches peak bloom. The plumes make excellent cut flowers for fresh arrangements.

An outstanding choice for partial to full shade, Chantilly Lace Goatsbeard plant reaches about 80 cm (2.5 ft) tall in shadier conditions. It will tolerate sunny locations, but will tend to stay more compact, topping out around 60 cm (2 ft). Often compared to Astilbe in appearance, Goatsbeard offers the added advantage of greater drought tolerance once established.

While growth may be slow during the first couple seasons, this perennial rewards patience with reliable, floral displays year after year. Allow ample room for it to mature, as it forms a dense clump up to 120 cm (4 ft) wide and prefers not to be disturbed or transplanted.

With its full, mounded habit, Aruncus ‘Chantilly Lace’ is ideal for borders, mass plantings, or weaving through other shade-loving plants to brighten woodland and shaded gardens. This dwarf goatsbeard can also be grown in a large container when garden space is limited. Foliage may be cut back in fall or spring. This deer-resistant cultivar is a hybrid of native and non-native Aruncus.
