Summer Runner Euonymus is an attractive, variegated, evergreen ground cover. The foliage is glossy, dark green with yellow centers. The stems are also light yellow and has a creeping, spreading form. The flowers are tiny, green, and non-showy. Cheerful orange berries appear in June.
Best used for year-round colour as a ground cover, border, or foundation piece in rock gardens or along slopes. Prune in early spring to shape as desired. This Variegated Euonymus is low maintenance, tolerant to drought, and most soil types but must have well-drained soil. Young plants of Euonymus fortunei 'Summer Runner' can benefit from being wrapped in burlap or having some protection from wind in the winter.
