Prairie Petite Lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Prairie Petite' ) is a dwarf, compact, rounded bush with panicles of fragrant pink to lavender flowers. This Dwarf Purple Lilac is quite a dense shrub, with green heart-shaped leaves, which grows to 48 inches tall and wide. The blooms open in mid to late spring, and are great fresh or dried in cut bouquets. The sweetly fragrant blooms attract both butterflies and hummingbirds.
Prairie Petite Dwarf Lilac prefers full sun. Hardy to USDA zone 3a, it is both heat and drought tolerant; and deer and rabbit resistant. It grows at a slow rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years.
