A new take on a garden classic, Delphinium 'Pagan Purples' has beautiful spires of flowers in shades of dark blue and deep purple (some will be mauve), with white or brown eyes. Many blooms will be double. Remove first flush of spent blooms to encourage reblooming on secondary spires in late summer and fall. This double purple Delphinium's flowers attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. It has an excellent form, strong stems, and a vigorous growth habit. Also known as "Double purple Larkspur", it was bred for its improved tolerance of heat and humidity, while retaining its cold hardiness.
Delphinium 'Pagan Purples' grow to a dramatic 6 feet tall, and mature flower spires will need some support when they are heavy with flower and the winds are high. These plants are excellent for adding height to small spaces. Use in borders, mass planting, or as a specimen. Makes lovely cut flowers. Deer and rabbit resistant.
