Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire', a variety of Bloodtwig Dogwood is an highly ornamental shrub that is a fantastic choice for winter landscapes. In winter, its bright yellow stems tipped with red twigs, resemble a burning fire, and juxtapose beautifully with the white snow. This shrub adds colourful interest in all seasons. White flowers in the spring, give way to blue-black fruit in the summer. In the fall, the green foliage turns a golden yellow. Add this deer resistant plant as a border or hedges for year round interest.
