Freya Clustered Bellflower (Campanula glomerata 'Freya') is prized for being hardy and exceptionally floriferous, with the flower stems comprising ⅔ the height of the plant. The flowers are star-shaped, rather than bell-shaped, and they bloom in clusters along the upright, well-branched stems. The knee-high, compact clump of sturdy green foliage remains dense to the ground, making it an excellent border plant. Freya Clustered Bellflower looks fantastic in mass plantings, and also works well in containers.
An easy to grow herbaceous perennial, Campanula glomerata 'Freya' can be grown in full sun to partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil. In areas with very hot summers, some shade is recommended. The pretty, clustered flowers bloom late spring to early summer, and will attract our beloved Ruby-throated Hummingbirds to your garden. This plant will self seed, so cutting back the flowers after blooming will help keep it compact ,and may result in a second round of flowering!
