Blue Heron Corydalis is known for its striking sapphire blue, long, tubular flowers. Its masses of fragrant flower spikes on showy, red, upright stems, create an astonishing contrast to its highly divided, bluish-green foliage. You need to see a Blue Corydalis in order to fully appreciate the beauty of its colour.

This Blue Corydalis flowers from late spring to mid-summer (June to August). Its ferny, compound foliage forms a compact mound. It is burgundy-coloured when it first appears in the spring, then turns bluish-green. Corydalis ‘Blue Heron can grow up to 25 cm tall and 25 cm wide.

Blue Heron Corydalis has a medium growth rate, and is expected to live for about 5 years under optimal conditions. It grows well in full shade to partial shade, in moist and well-drained soil. It is hardy to USDA zone 6a. Easy to grow and requiring little maintenance, Blue Heron Fumewort can be used as a ground-cover, border plant, container plant, or specimen. It is perfect for shady woodland gardens.
