Dicentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart' (Bleeding Heart) is a striking, small perennial (grows to 2 ft tall and 3 ft wide), with bright golden yellow foliage, peach coloured stems, and arching sprays of deep, rosy pink and white, heart-shaped blooms. Gold Heart Bleeding Heart blooms in mid-late spring, and go dormant until the following year. However, if plants are kept well-watered during the spring, dormancy may be delayed until late summer or early fall.

A good border plant to plant closely with other shade garden favourites that come out a bit later in the spring, such as blue-green and sedges hostas. Also use this yellow leaf Bleeding Heart in containers and planters, woodland and shade gardens. Attracts hummingbirds and bees to the spring garden.

Very hardy and easy to grow. Dicentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart' will grow in a variety of soils, and is happy partial shade to shade. The foliage is at its brilliant best in full shade. Deer resistant.
