The Onoclea sensibilis, also called Sensitive Fern and gets its name as its fronds die with the first autumn frost. Growing up to 4 feet tall this fern has long-stalked, deeply pinnatifid fronds with leathery, triangular leaflets. It’s ideal for woodland gardens, locations along streams and ponds and it’s also appropriate for shaded gardens.
