In the early spring, Salix x 'S365' SHOWTIME is literally covered in catkins. Created at the University of Toronto (in a biomass program), it is the most prolific producer of cut stems on the market. Catkins burst forth with masses of yellow flowers in late spring. The shrub has an upright habit, and grows to 10ft -15 ft tall with a 3-5 feet spread. The bark is brown when young, turning green and smooth with maturity. Leaves are dark green, and veined and up to 3” long. Coppice to ensure more young stem and catkin production. Probably a cross between Salix caprea x Salix cinerea. Pest resistant.
