Festuca gautieri, commonly known as spiky fescue or bearskin fescue, is native to the Pyrenees. Commonly cultivated semi-evergreen grass, it is a small, low-growing pernnials suitable for rock gardens. For best results grow the bearskin fescue away from overhanging plants and brush any leaves and needles off during the winter.
