The Button Bush is an interesting multi-stemmed shrub with unusual flowers. The long lasting blooms are white or pale pink one-inch fuzzy balls. These globes with a fringe of pistils hang at the end of stalks. These fragrant flowers are a magnet to butterflies and hummingbirds. After blooming, the button willow develops attractive red rounded fruits. The buttonlike balls persist throughout the winter. This ornamental shrub is suited to wetland areas and to naturalize landscapes.
