Wild Indigo 'Grape Taffy' will make a dramatic statement with its deep reddish-purple flower spikes that rise above the blue green foliage. A buff yellow keel making it reminiscent of grapes accents each flower. Gorgeous blooms begin in late spring and last until summer. Secondary branching makes it especially floriferous. If left untrimmed attractive black seedpods follow in the fall and persisting into winter. It adds beauty even when it’s not in bloom with its blue-green dense foliage and its lovely backdrop for other perennials. Baptisia ‘Grape Taffy’ is one of the most one of the most compact of the False Indigos. This bicolour Bastard Lupine fares well in containers.
