This Alpine Currant is grown for its high tolerance to shade. It is compact, mound-forming, and has bright green leaves that turn to a dull yellow in fall. Flowers are greenish-yellow, and bloom in May. Stems are chestnut brown and may exfoliate (peel) as they mature. This deciduous shrub grows to 3 ft in height and width. Excellent hedge as it keeps its lower branch leaves. Native to Europe.
